I AM AN EXPERIMENTAL ARTIST

I want my artwork to invoke raw emotions and narratives from people. The influences for my images come from life, human emotions, movies, music, and anime (Yes, I said anime).

Ever since I was little and was able to pick up a scented magic marker or a point and shoot camera, I knew I found something that I could express my happiness, sadness, or anger through. I tried to copy what I saw in my mind onto paper or through my camera, sometimes the result turning out better than I planned or nothing like I imagined. Other than my passion for art, my other reason for pushing myself to learn new and different styles way to prove to the people who didn’t believe in me or said I couldn’t make it in life doing the things I loved. So, I present to you, my small biography.

I left my New Jersey home and drove down to Florida (Yup, I drove straight through, I still have bad dreams about that trip. **only 60 miles till South of the Border**). It was certainly an adventure attending the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I won’t say if it was good or bad, but I learned a lot of useful information while down south. I learned things like new lighting techniques, how to operate different types of equipment, the business of photography, and even tried different photography styles. I even discover that underwater photography is tricky, but I bet there’s so much more to see once you stop practicing in the pool using a green plush bunny as your test subject. I graduated with my Associate of Science and even won best portfolio for my graduating class. I left South Florida soon after graduation and moved to Virginia. There, I taught myself how to make a cheap light box and photograph small toys and items, even playing around with how to light them for that exceptional look.

I was asked in 2007 to display some of my photography at a club in West Palm Beach (Respectable Street Café) for Valentine’s Day. It was an honor and a challenge because I was still attending AiFL and had never done anything like this before. Given little time and money, I planned and executed new images, designed how to display each finished picture, and promoted myself the best I could. My friends, fans, and the locals of West Palm Beach stopped by to dance, drink, and gaze at my art; I knew I made an impression on some of the folks and I even sold a picture. Later that year, I was asked by the monthly free magazine, Closer, to send in some of my work to be published. Now, I reside in the Philadelphia area studying and practicing mixed media art styles; web design layouts, and digital painting. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to see my work and read a little about me.
